USAF A-13a oxygen mask & Gentex cotton summer flying helmet

RARE MSA 22001 A-13a oxygen mask, mask is complete with all fittings, and ANB-M-C1 microphone, with lead and plug, no date on the exhalation valve, but I would say mid 1940's/ early 50's, Korean war era, rubber face piece is in good condition, apart from one area around the cheek piece, where the rubber appears to have suffered from heat/ poor storage? it has left a rippling effect on the surface, (see photo) but the rubber is solid, and remains flexible, with no hardening to the area, and has no other issues, and of course cannot be seen when worn with a flying helmet, and it also retains the canvass loop on the under side of the face piece (often removed) for passing the helmet chinstrap through, fitted with the "Y" yolk for attaching to the helmet, As used by U.S. Navy/ U.S.M.C. Pilots, oxygen tube is in very good condition, only showing signs of crazing when flexed, and is flexible/supple, fitted with the early oxygen connector, 83-C-3 Buaer with the "blue" dot applied, and fitted with an anti "flail" strap, very good example of an early U.S.Navy MS22001 oxygen mask.

Excellent unissued Gentex cotton summer flying helmet, fitted with a pair of rubber earcups, which are in good condition, and a pair of P/O H-3/ARR-3 receivers are fitted without a loom. chinstrap and buckle are leather, and both in excellent unused condition, factory fitted early quick release buckles to attach to the H-2/3 type helmets,(see Jet Age Flight Helmets pages 92/93) are in excellent condition. Size medium. This helmet would be very difficult to upgrade.
